10 Simple Daily Habits for a Healthier Life
Let’s be honest — life gets busy. Having our work, family, and everything that fits in between, our health is usually in the second place. However, when I offer you to read that you do not need to subscribe to a gym or use expensive supplements to feel better every day, you will feel even better.
Yes, you read that right.
A better life does not necessarily involve extreme changes. It is often the little/personal everyday habits that can add up in the end. I am going to outline 10 low key daily living healthy habits that anyone can embrace, who is anyone by the way. I have used several of them myself and I can attest to the fact that they are not as difficult as they sound.
Start Your Day with Warm Water
Your Parents must have said this, and they were not wrong!
Drinking warm water in the morning will initially jump start your digestive system, wash out the toxins and also rehydrate your body after a night.
I normally add a measure of lemon to it to give it the kick of freshness.
Move Your Body for 20 Minutes
You do not have to run a marathon or pick up heavy weights. Even a simple 20 minutes of walking, stretching, or even yoga miraculously work on your mood and the level of energy.
And that is even when you are at home or living in a little apartment because you can afford to stretch or dance and listen to music. Just move, however you like.
Practice 5 Minutes of Mindfulness
We exist in the rude world – notifications, traffic, negative feelings in the workplace, it does not quit. Just 5 minutes sometime before going to work or after a working day, sitting and having a good time with just some breaths can do wonders to your thinking.
You don’t need to be an expert. Essentially, you have to shut your eyes, concentration on your breathing, and be there.
My initial intake was 2 minutes per day and now this small break is something I even enjoy.
Eat One Seasonal Fruit Daily
Indian markets have lot seasonal fruits guava, papaya, mangoes, pomegranates among others, and the list is endless.
You have to consume a minimum of one piece of fruit daily instead of taking a packet of chips.
Fruits have natural energy, vitamins and they are delicious in taste. Also, purchasers of local seasonal helps farmers as well.
Stay Hydrated (Set a Water Reminder!)
Sounds simple, right? However, the majority of us do not drink water enough. I too forget, until I have started tying a bottle next to my desk and remind myself with a phone after every 2 hours.
Enough water keeps your skin fresh, your digestive system working and also your mind alert.
Ensure to attain a minimum of 6-8 glasses per day particularly during hot seasons.
Eat Dinner Early (at Least 2 Hours Before Bed)
An evening meal will interfere with your sleep and digestion. you need to eat at least 2 or 3 hours before going to sleep. As an illustration, when you sleep at 10 pm, attempt to have dinner at 7 or 8 pm.
It is also after this change that I slept better and I managed to wake up with a lot of energy.
It also enabled me to have the capability of comparing to take a rest before going to sleep instead of rushing to bed after having my meals.
Limit Screen Time Before Sleeping
Watching Instagram posts or falling endlessly asleep? We’ve all done it.
However, researchers (and personal life experience) have revealed that excessive drama onscreen before bedtime makes it more difficult to sleep. Our brain is duped by the blue light of screens to keep them alert.
Instead, beg to read a book, have some soft music or just lie down there and rest.
Write Down 3 Things You’re Grateful For
This is how I changed my perspective on the world completely. Every day gets over with writing three things I'm thankful for-a good meal, a kind word, and even a funny meme.
Silly as it may sound, it takes your focus off the problems and directs it to the positive. When you retire at night with a heart full of gratitude, the experience of sleep is a little sweeter.
Smile More — It’s Free and Powerful
It may not sound like much for a tip about health: smiling. Even through stress, a smile will release the good hormones. This may give some lift to mood and tends to brighten some other people in the vicinity.
Try smiling at a stranger or starting a conversation with a "Good morning!" - and see the surprise effect it makes.
Take a 10-Minute Digital Detox Daily
Using Phones great but also tired for some time. Try Avoid watching Phone or TV or laptop for 10 minutes.
How about a stroll or sitting under the balcony or spending time with one's pet or just gazing at the sky? It decreases eye strain and provides rest for the mind as well.
