Accenture layoffs - 2025
Accenture layoffs - 2025
What happened
Over the past three months, Accenture has dismissed over 11, 000 employees across the globe.
Their total workforce reduced to 779,000 against 791,000 individuals.
The cuts reflect a massive reorganization initiative of up to $865 million (money used in severance payments, relocation and the closure of certain deals).
Why the layoffs
Accenture also has a greater emphasis on AI (artificial intelligence), data and digital services.
Jobs that cannot be retrained or re-skilled towards this new course are being eliminated at a great pace.
The company claims that it is not merely saving money, where it is shifting the workers to the future skills.
Money and growth
During the previous quarter, Accenture made $17.6 billion, which surpassed the expectations of experts.
It increased by 7 per cent in the entire year, but it anticipates its growth by 2 per cent to 5 per cent the following year.
As thousands of jobs are being lost, some new employees in AI, cloud, and data are also being hired at Accenture.
What to expect
The layoffs will continue up to November, 2025 on the positions that cannot be retrained.
AI, data and cloud savvy workers are safer, whereas more traditional positions are at risk.
